Gartner and webMethods Veterans Bring Added Depth
to Open Source-Based Database Company
EDISON, N.J., June 1, 2005 – EnterpriseDB Corporation, an enterprise database company, announced today that software industry veterans Phillip Merrick and Gary Long have joined EnterpriseDB's Board of Directors. Together with Andy Astor, EnterpriseDB's Chief Executive Officer, and Denis Lussier, EnterpriseDB's Chief Architect, Merrick and Long will guide the company as it competes in the enterprise database market. Until October 2004, Phillip Merrick was the Chairman and CEO of webMethods, Inc., which he co-founded in 1996. Under his leadership, the company demonstrated the best revenue growth of any U.S. software company between 1998 and 2002 and conducted the then-most-successful software IPO ever in February 2000.
