ISVs seeking to certify, embed or bundle Postgres Plus Advanced Server with their solutions will receive new pricing benefits and expanded engineering support

EnterpriseDB (EDB), the leading worldwide provider of enterprise-class Postgres products and Oracle database compatibility solutions, today announced an expansion of its partner program to feature greater support for independent software vendors (ISVs). The EDB ISV Program provides access to specialized engineering resources for certifying products. The program also features pricing packages optimized for offerings in which EDB’s flagship Postgres Plus Advanced Server is bundled or embedded.

The rising demand for Postgres among organizations seeking to reduce spending on traditional database vendors has heightened the need for certifying Postgres Plus Advanced Server with other enterprise data infrastructure solutions and applications. The new ISV Program provides expanded integration throughout EDB to speed the certification process for a wide range of systems, solutions and architectures. It also features specialized pricing and support options for companies that bundle Postgres with their own solutions. And it includes pricing and support options for software-as-a-service solutions that integrate Postgres on the back end.

ISVs are getting significant value from working with EDB, including:

  • The ability to provide their customers with a more cost-effective enterprise-class relational database that runs on all major server platforms including Linux, Microsoft Windows Server, Unix and Apple’s OS X.
  • EDB’s Oracle compatibility, a feature of Postgres Plus Advanced Server that makes it simpler to integrate and port existing applications, thus speeding migrations and time-to-market.
  • Increasing product margins and profitability for embedded, bundled and Software-as-a-Service solutions by using the leading price-performance enterprise-class database.
  • Simpler upgrade and installation processes using new RPM packages delivered in the latest release of Postgres Plus Advanced Server to support ISVs.

“Our customer and partner profile has become more diverse and we want to foster a direct, collaborative relationship with other software vendors,” said Ed Boyajian, CEO and president of EnterpriseDB. “Our new ISV Program provides the resources that help vendors bring better applications to market faster. And by certifying our products with other vendors, end users have the assurance that all components of their infrastructure have been optimized for Postgres.”

New and expanded projects with ISVs—whether certifying or working to bundle or embed Postgres Plus Advanced Server—contributed to EDB’s record growth in subscription revenue during 2013. Among the ISVs with which EDB is currently working is ACI Worldwide, CA Technologies, EMC, HP, Informatica, PinkRoccade, RSA, Symantec and Tata Consultancy Services.
